[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] CJ Foodville announced on the 8th that Tous Les Jours' Christmas cake sales increased by 112% compared to the same period last year.
On the 17th of last month, Tous Les Jours partnered with the popular mobile game "Cookie Run: Kingdom" to launch Christmas season products. Analyzing sales for two weeks from the launch date until the 30th of last month, sales were found to be more than double compared to the previous year.
The pre-order rate for Christmas cakes also surged more than threefold. The company explained that the popularity of Christmas cakes, which can enhance the atmosphere with just one product, increased as online gifting and home party culture became mainstream.
Collaboration with Devsisters' globally popular mobile game Cookie Run: Kingdom is also one of the reasons for the popularity. The colorful cookie characters, cake castle, and cookie log from the game are visuals that remind everyone of Christmas and fit well with the seasonal concept. Additionally, the product quality, which faithfully reproduces the game images and the flavors of the cookie characters, seems to have appealed not only to game fans but also to the bakery’s main customer base.
Meanwhile, among the products, the "Cookie Run Choco Gold Layer" ranks first in sales. It is the Cookie Run version of Tous Les Jours' steady seller "Choco Gold Layer," offering a richer and more luxurious taste with two types of chocolate cream.
