Lee Jun-seok "Our High School Seniors Will Be Superior to Democratic Party High School Seniors"
Lee Tan-hee "I Feel the 'Divide-and-Rule DNA'"
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, shared a support speech by a high school senior party member and said, "Our high school seniors are superior to the Democratic Party's high school seniors," sparking a heated debate between the ruling and opposition parties. Lee Tan-hee, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized Lee by saying, "I can feel the DNA of division," to which Lee responded, "This is not division."
On the 7th, Lee posted on his Facebook, "Why is boosting the morale of our high school senior party member by sharing a truly impressive speech video considered division? If you are confident, Representative Lee, you should post and promote the Democratic Party high school senior campaign committee chairman's speech."
He added, "We provide opportunities to participate and compete, while the Democratic Party simply gives positions," and said, "Let's see which method the younger generation prefers and considers fair."
Earlier, Lee shared a video on Facebook of Kim Min-gyu, a high school senior who gave a speech at the People Power Party's central campaign committee launch ceremony on the 6th, saying, "Our high school seniors are superior to the Democratic Party's high school seniors." Born in 2003, Kim was the youngest challenger in the party spokesperson selection contest 'I am the National Representative' debate battle and reached the quarterfinals.
In his speech, Kim addressed internal conflicts during the campaign committee formation, saying, "Our concept is dissonance," and added, "Others mocked us, but in the end, we proved a wonderful work. This is how we have won, and we will win again this time."
Regarding this, Lee said, "Kim Min-gyu, the party member, will surely one day write a candidate's speech and give a candidate support speech," and urged, "Everyone should watch this video at least once."

In response, Representative Lee criticized on her Facebook, "Beyond gender division, are high school seniors now divided into 'our high school seniors' and 'Democratic Party high school seniors'?" and sharply stated, "I can feel the 'division DNA' in every word of Leader Lee."
In another post, she questioned, "Why was the phrase to boost morale specifically 'you are superior'?" and pointed out, "Leader Lee is actually only superficially 'meritocratic' but essentially 'hierarchical.'
She continued, "Most politicians in the same situation would have said, 'You are special,'" and added, "A good politician would go further and say, 'Others are special too. Let's build a world of coexistence and diversity together.' Politics is not a game."
