[Asia Economy Reporter Bae Kyunghwan] Sarang Jeil Church lost a lawsuit seeking confirmation that the demolition order related to the redevelopment of Jangwi 10 District in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul is invalid.
According to the legal community on the 7th, the Seoul Administrative Court dismissed Sarang Jeil Church's lawsuit against the Jangwi 10 District Housing Redevelopment Maintenance Project Association, which sought confirmation of the invalidity of the management disposition plan.
The redevelopment of Jangwi 10 District in Seongbuk-gu has been delayed for nearly 10 years due to compensation issues with Sarang Jeil Church. It is known that Sarang Jeil Church is demanding 56 billion KRW as compensation for relocation measures, including church reconstruction costs and relocation expenses.
Meanwhile, Sarang Jeil Church lost both the first trial of the eviction lawsuit filed by the association in May last year and the second trial in October this year. On the 15th of last month, about 500 enforcement personnel were mobilized for the sixth forced eviction execution of the church facilities, but it was thwarted as the worshippers resisted.
