[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The National Integrated Public Officials Labor Union Time-Selective Headquarters (Head Jung Seong-hye) held the inaugural general meeting for the establishment of the National Time-Selective Public Officials Labor Union on the 6th at the 6th-floor conference room of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU).

As the upper-level organization, the National Integrated Public Officials Labor Union (Chairman An Seong-eun), joined the FKTU Public Officials Federation, the process of changing the upper-level organization to the FKTU Public Officials Federation has begun.

Accordingly, the official name of the union will also change. The existing Time-Selective Headquarters under the National Integrated Public Officials Labor Union will be renamed as the "National Time-Selective Public Officials Labor Union under the FKTU Public Officials Federation." The inaugural Chairman Jung Seong-hye and Secretary-General Kim Hwang-woo submitted the labor union establishment report on December 7, 2021, marking the start of a nationwide labor union.

The Time-Selective Headquarters was launched on June 16, 2017, and has shown continuous and clear achievements such as ▲ application of the Public Officials Pension Act ▲ revision of the Public Officials Appointment Decree to a maximum of 35 hours per week ▲ integration of personnel quotas.

In addition, through hosting National Assembly forums, regional member meetings, and policy consultative bodies with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, efforts have been made to improve the treatment of time-selective recruited public officials.

At the inaugural general meeting on December 6, 2021, the first executives of the National Time-Selective Public Officials Labor Union were elected as follows: ▲ Chairman Jung Seong-hye ▲ Vice Chairman Kim Jin-sik ▲ Secretary-General Kim Hwang-woo ▲ Chief Auditor Park Il-young
