BTS 'Butter' Ranks No.1 on US 'Top 50 Songs of the Year'

The global mega-hit song "Butter" by the group BTS has been named "Song of the Year" by the American music media outlet Consequence of Sound.

On the 7th (local time), "Butter" ranked first in the "Top 50 Songs of 2021" category released on the official website of Consequence of Sound. Last year, BTS was honored as the "2020 Band of the Year" by Consequence of Sound.

Consequence of Sound reported the news of BTS's "Butter" ranking first as "Song of the Year," stating that BTS "broke many records they previously held with 'Butter'." They also mentioned new records such as the music video surpassing 3.89 million concurrent viewers at its release and reaching 10 million views within 13 minutes. Consequence of Sound evaluated, "But more important than the streaming numbers of 'Butter' is that BTS knows how to cast 'pop magic.'"

The outlet added, "In 2021, most gatherings, concerts, and important moments of connection between people were impossible. However, as always, BTS wanted to bring people together and make them happy, and in this regard, they succeeded."
