Gwangyang Yonggang Library Successfully Completes Picture Book Lecture Visiting Schools

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] On the 3rd, Gwangyang Yonggang Library in Jeonnam invited author Kim Kyung-hee to hold a one-person play titled "Amazing Three Words," a lecture by the author of "It's Okay, Mister," along with a quiz and autograph session, concluding with enthusiastic responses from children, the library announced on the 7th.

The lecture, based on the book "It's Okay, Mister," was organized to help children gain courage and think positively through picture books. It was conducted directly at Gwangyang Maro Elementary School, with about 130 second-grade students participating.

Author Kim Kyung-hee, who led the session, has written numerous children's picture books including "It's Okay, Mister," "Invincible Courage Man," and "Amazing Three Words." She is an expert picture book author who conveys positive thoughts to children through picture books, having won the grand prize at the 1st Biryoungso Character Picture Book Contest.

In her lecture, Kim said, "I did not give up in difficult situations and challenged myself to become a picture book author standing before you," adding, "I hope you continue to dream and achieve your goals not only as children but also as adults, so do not give up on your dreams." She presented ways to think positively and gain courage.

The lecture included a communication session where participants and the author asked and answered questions, followed by an autograph session on the picture books after the lecture, enhancing satisfaction with the event.

A teacher who participated in the lecture said, "It was great to see the children happy meeting the author who wrote 'It's Okay, Mister' and 'Invincible Courage Man,' which we read together at school."

She added, "Especially, the author's one-person play was interesting and provided a warm time for the children, making it meaningful."

Yonggang Library plans to continue picture book author lectures for adults and children in connection with the original artwork exhibition "Kim Sang-geun Art Exhibition" on the 10th.
