[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO) will transfer 64 of its owned technologies to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Daejeon area free of charge.

On the 7th, KOMSCO announced that it signed a business agreement with Daejeon City to "activate intellectual property transactions and promote the commercialization of intellectual property rights."

According to the agreement, KOMSCO will cooperate with Daejeon Technopark, the city's technology transaction institution, in areas including ▲intellectual property technology transfer ▲support for intellectual property rights commercialization ▲discovery and fostering of domestic printing industry companies holding excellent intellectual property rights.

Currently, KOMSCO holds about 900 intellectual property rights (registered basis) in the field of anti-counterfeiting, and since 2014, it has held annual technology briefings to pursue mutual growth with small and medium-sized partner companies.

The technologies transferred free of charge through this agreement include IT convergence, security printing, pigments, films, and embossing. KOMSCO plans to send in-house experts to companies that complete technology transfer contracts to explore the quality of the transferred technology and ways to improve it.

Ban Jang-sik, President of KOMSCO, said, "We will steadily transfer the intellectual property rights owned by KOMSCO to SMEs to establish a foundation for mutual growth with small and medium-sized partner companies and expand ESG (Environment, Safety, Governance) management."
