[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] The Korea Housing Construction Association has received the ‘Yeongseok Award’ from the Udang Lee Hoe-young Education and Culture Foundation.
The Korea Housing Construction Association announced on the 7th that it received the Yeongseok Award at the 3rd Udang Award and Yeongseok Award ceremony held on the 6th at the press conference room on the 19th floor of the Seoul Press Center. The Yeongseok Award was established by the Udang Lee Hoe-young Education and Culture Foundation to honor the noblesse oblige spirit of Yeongseok Lee Seok-young, who devoted his life to the independence movement. It is awarded to companies with achievements and contributions in social service activities.
The foundation explained the reason for selecting the Yeongseok Award, stating, “The Korea Housing Construction Association and its member companies have repaired 2,014 old houses free of charge for national veterans in difficult living conditions every year for 28 years since 1994, and have actively carried out support projects for Korean residents in the Russian Far East, thereby contributing to society by supporting socially vulnerable groups and practicing ESG management.”
Park Jae-hong, president of the Korea Housing Construction Association, said in his acceptance speech, “We are very pleased and honored to receive the 3rd Yeongseok Award, which honors the noble patriotism and love for the nation of Yeongseok Lee Seok-young, representing the housing industry. Taking this Yeongseok Award as an opportunity, we will carry out our mission with a sense of responsibility to contribute to creating a sustainable and inclusive community by further expanding various social contribution activities.”
