The Hanwha Consortium, competing to win the contract for the 2 trillion KRW-scale 'Jamsil Sports & MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) Complex Development Project (Jamsil MICE Project),' is making every effort to secure public interest.
The Hanwha Consortium is focusing on the evaluation criterion of 'appropriateness of the revenue return standard and the sharing plan for excess operating income.' This reflects the evaluation intention to examine which consortium proposes the highest amount of revenue to be returned to Seoul citizens from the operating income.
In particular, while most evaluation criteria for the Jamsil MICE Project are absolute evaluations graded from A to E, the appropriateness of the revenue return standard will be assessed through a relative evaluation method, making the ranking distinctly clear.
Development of the local community and win-win cooperation are also key points. The Hanwha Consortium stated, "We will promote regional revitalization by providing startup support offices and MICE hub spaces, fostering the concentration of MICE-related industries."
They plan to create a complex cultural space throughout the entire complex by integrating IT technology and artistic elements, aiming for a vibrant, year-round living complex. Public art that citizens can naturally enjoy will also be provided. These spaces will offer enjoyment to visitors through performances and exhibitions that blend metaverse, virtual and reality, combining online and offline experiences. Accessibility will be further enhanced with autonomous shuttles and Urban Air Mobility (UAM), transforming the area into a citizen-friendly space.
Furthermore, the Hanwha Consortium is promoting a carbon-neutral complex with a renewable energy self-sufficiency rate more than twice the mandatory ratio to build a sustainable future city. Recently, the necessity of energy self-sufficiency and carbon neutrality has been consistently raised to strengthen public interest in various urban development projects.
Meanwhile, the Jamsil MICE Project is a private development project to build convention facilities three times the size of COEX, along with a baseball stadium, multipurpose sports facilities, swimming pools, water leisure facilities, hotels, cultural and commercial facilities, and office buildings on a 357,576㎡ site around Jamsil Sports Complex in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
The Hanwha Consortium is pursuing participation together with top partners in each field, including Hanwha Group (39%), HDC Group (20%), Hana Financial Investment, Shinhan Bank, Populous (USA), Benoy (UK), KINTEX, Nexon, Shilla Hotel, Galleria, and I'Park Mall.
