Doosan Fuel Cell Receives 2021 Korea Job Creation Merit Award

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Doosan Fuel Cell announced on the 7th that it will receive the '2021 Korea Job Merit Award' for contributing to win-win cooperation with partner companies and creating local jobs.

This award is given by the Presidential Committee on Jobs, established in 2018, to individuals and organizations that have contributed to the creation of quality jobs. Doosan Fuel Cell, which has a production plant in Iksan, Jeollabuk-do, has directly employed about 500 people since 2017 and has promoted win-win cooperation with about 2,600 employees from 200 partner companies.

Doosan Fuel Cell plans to continue contributing to the creation of quality local jobs through ▲ expansion of the PAFC plant and establishment of Korean-style SOFC manufacturing facilities ▲ expansion of overseas exports ▲ execution of various national projects for technology localization. In particular, once the PAFC plant expansion is completed, production capacity will increase from the existing 90MW to 275MW, with an estimated direct and indirect employment effect of about 340 people, a production inducement effect of approximately 231 billion KRW, and a value-added inducement effect of about 72.6 billion KRW.

A Doosan Fuel Cell official said, "The number of partner companies has increased about 20 times compared to the early business stage in 2014, and the product localization rate has been raised to 98%," adding, "We will also contribute to job creation for youth through field training programs linked with universities, fostering local talents, and revitalizing industry-academia cooperation."
