Korean Central Broadcasting reported on the 7th that “the 8th Military Education Cadres (Officers) Conference of the Korean People's Army was held on December 4th and 5th at the 4·25 Cultural Hall in Pyongyang,” and “Respected Comrade Kim Jong-un guided the conference.”

The broadcast explained that the Central Committee of the Workers' Party and the Central Military Commission convened the conference to bring about a revolutionary change in military education work in accordance with the demands of the changing era and revolutionary situation.

The broadcast stated, “(General Secretary Kim) emphasized that all military education cadres must be prepared as true education warriors who are endlessly loyal to the Party's ideology and leadership, and that military education work must be thoroughly organized and conducted according to the Party's ideology, policies, and methods, thereby cultivating students into commanding members who are absolutely loyal to the Party Central Committee,” and “It is important for military education cadres to deeply realize their noble mission and duty before the Party and the revolution and to unite and fully mobilize in carrying out the military education revolution.”

General Secretary Kim appealed, “For our great Party, for our great state and people, and for the eternal strength and invincibility of our revolutionary armed forces, let us wholeheartedly open a new rising and leap forward period of the military education revolution with full effort.”

The conference was attended by exemplary military education officers, officials and commanders from the General Political Bureau, Ministry of Defense, and General Staff Department, as well as commanding members from various military branches and corps-level units.

Park Jong-chon, Secretary of the Party and the highest-ranking officer in the North Korean military, and Oh Il-jong, military political leadership director, took their seats on the presidium, and there were reports and discussions by Defense Minister Ri Yong-gil.

Earlier, in July, General Secretary Kim also increased contact with military officers by presiding over the first-ever training session for all military commanders and political officers.
