[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Yeongju City, Gyeongbuk Province, held the ‘4-H Federation Communication and Empathy Workshop’ on the 6th.

The 4-H Federation is a farmers' organization established to enhance the qualities of professional farmers who will lead agriculture and rural society by creating the values of agriculture, environment, and life.

Through various activities such as on-site autonomous learning to increase understanding of agriculture, it is revitalizing the disappearing rural areas.

The workshop held at Sobaeksan Ecological Exploration Center was organized to foster future rural successor young farmers by practicing the 4-H ideals of ‘Knowledge, Virtue, Labor, and Physical Strength’ to raise democratic citizenship awareness, form harmonious human relationships, and develop leadership.

Fifty 4-H federation members participated, sharing experiences including legal knowledge necessary for agricultural management, conflicts with parents, and conflicts with the older generation as young farmers, and jointly discussed solutions.

Jang Seongwook, director of Yeongju Agricultural Technology Center, said, “Young farmers are the main players of future agriculture,” adding, “I hope this will help in fostering communication, empathy, cooperation, and creativity.”
