SoftCamp Supplies Document Security Products to Ministry of the Interior and Safety's National Information Resources Service

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Softcamp announced on the 6th that it has won the ‘DRM Project for GVPN’ from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s National Information Resources Service. The contract amount is approximately 1.04 billion KRW. The system construction related to this project is scheduled to be completed by January 29 next year.

This project is part of an advancement to enhance security and respond to work demands as the use of government remote work support systems (GVPN: Government Virtual Private Network) has expanded due to the increase in non-face-to-face work processing in the public sector amid the COVID-19 issue. GVPN refers to a system that allows public officials to remotely access work systems from domestic and overseas business trips or from home to handle administrative tasks. It enables everything from attendance confirmation to electronic approval. With Softcamp’s document security added, a security environment essential in the COVID-19 environment has been realized.

Accordingly, documents downloaded from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s National Information Resources Service internal work system to remote work PCs will be automatically encrypted. Through this, encrypted files can only be used for work purposes within the authorized scope by users with the appropriate permissions. This effectively prevents the leakage of personal and sensitive information that may occur in remote work environments.

Jongpil Kim, Vice President of Sales at Softcamp, stated, “We believe that not only VPN communication encryption, which has been essential for remote work in the market, but also DRM, an encryption solution for working materials and documents, will establish itself as an indispensable security solution.” He added, “Based on winning the DRM project from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s National Information Resources Service, Softcamp will strengthen its position as an essential DRM in the public sector’s GVPN in 2022.”
