Waterfront Park, Haenuri Park, Mulbit Park, Dodeulbyeot Park, and Other Waterside Facilities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik) announced on the 6th that it will carry out safety hazard removal work to prevent safety accidents in the Gwangyang Port waterfront park.
Recently, with the development of residential land near Gwangyang Port and the opening of Seonghwang Overpass, the number of visitors to the port hinterland waterfront park is expected to increase in the future.
Accordingly, last month, the authority conducted a comprehensive inspection of facilities in the Gwangyang Port waterfront parks, including Multeo Park, Haenuri Park, Mulbit Park, and Dodeulbyeot Park, and confirmed the aging of some facilities.
The safety accident prevention work will continue until March next year, starting with the demolition and repair of aging facilities in parks located in the western hinterland, and in 2022, the scope of work will be expanded to waterfront facilities in the eastern hinterland.
Meanwhile, Lee Jang-mok, head of the logistics complex department at the authority, said, “In response to the recent emphasis on the importance of preventing safety accidents, we are proactively carrying out safety accident prevention work,” adding, “We will complete the 2022 work within the first quarter to prepare for safety accidents in the spring when visitors increase.”
