[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Choi Yena, formerly of the group IZ*ONE, has stated her intention to take legal action regarding suspicions involving a conglomerate chairman.

Her agency, Yuehua Entertainment, stated on the 6th, "We have recognized that malicious rumors about our artist Choi Yena are being indiscriminately spread on online communities and SNS," and clarified, "Choi Yena is clearly not related to these rumors."

They added, "We will respond with zero tolerance to the malicious commenters who have caused mental distress and harm to Choi Yena, who is in her early twenties and just beginning to pursue her dreams."

Furthermore, the agency said, "We plan to take strong legal action against malicious posts, defamation, and dissemination acts to protect the rights of our artist. We will track down the source of these incidents and take legal measures, and we will do our utmost to prevent such incidents from recurring. We ask that malicious actions against our artist cease immediately."

The agency also stated, "We are continuously monitoring and collecting evidence through reports from fans, and once the data compilation is complete, we will submit a complaint through a law firm."

They reiterated, "We will continue to respond strongly without leniency or settlement to indiscriminate rumor spreading and malicious posts."

Choi Yena herself spoke out. Through her official social network service (SNS) on the same day, she expressed, "I was utterly baffled and embarrassed watching my three-name appear in a matter completely unrelated to me, as if it were true, spreading rapidly."

She further explained, "I am not the subject of that rumor. Please do not worry as I have absolutely no connection to it."

On the 31st of last month, SBS reported that Lee Jaehwan, chairman of Jaehwan Holdings and younger brother of CJ Group chairman Lee Jaehyun, was a sponsor of female entertainer A. The media released messages exchanged between the chairman and A, and reported that A was selected as a fixed cast member on a CJ-affiliated broadcasting program.

Some speculated that Choi Yena, who has been repeatedly cast as a fixed member on the CJ-affiliated tvN variety program, might be the female entertainer A.

Meanwhile, Choi Yena gained recognition through the 2018 Mnet audition program 'Produce 48' and debuted with the group IZ*ONE. She is currently appearing on tvN's 'Bloody Game' and is scheduled to appear in the tvN D original web drama 'Girl's World 2' on the 15th and Tving's 'High School Mystery Club 2' on the 31st.
