[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Hwang Dooyul] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will hold the event ‘2021, Busan Education Festival Embracing the Future’ from the 7th to the 10th.


The event will be held under the slogan ‘Pat Pat Here and Now, Step by Step Toward Tomorrow.’


The slogan means to look back on the experiences cultivated by the educational community, encourage each other, and move forward toward the future.


The event will be operated in three parts?Opening Stage, Participation Stage, and Closing Stage?held both on-site at BEXCO and on an online platform. It will be conducted in various formats such as keynote lectures, case sharing, talk concerts, and forums where the educational community shares achievements and explores directions for innovative education.


On the 7th, the Opening Stage will feature the opening declaration and welcome speech by Superintendent Kim Seok-jun, a welcoming performance by Hanam Elementary School Orchestra, and a keynote lecture titled ‘The New Paradigm of Future Education: Small-Learning Education’ by Professor Park Nam-gi from Gwangju National University of Education.


From the 7th to the 9th, the Participation Stage will be divided into four sessions?Growth Zone, Sharing Zone, Learning Zone, and Empathy Zone?offering 33 face-to-face courses and 9 non-face-to-face courses.


On the 10th, the Closing Stage will feature a keynote lecture titled ‘With Corona, Preparing Together for the Recovery of Daily Life’ by Dr. Jung Hye-shin from Yonsei University. There will also be a policy talk show involving supervisors, teachers, parents, village education activists discussing ‘The Role of the Da Happiness Education District and Village Education Community.’


The event integrates the existing Busan Da Happiness Education Festival, Class Sharing Festival, Education Empathy Concert, workshops for the final stages of professional learning communities, and performance report meetings for the high school credit system, autonomous public high schools, and integrated education research schools.


Superintendent Kim Seok-jun said, “The event will be an opportunity for the educational community to learn and grow together and to restore education in daily life.”
