[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] Voice actor Kim Bomin, who runs the YouTube channel 'Ssubokman,' declared, "I will not get vaccinated until the end," and faced fierce criticism from netizens. As the controversy grew, Kim Bomin posted again on social media (SNS) to explain, "(Regarding the vaccine) I have physical issues."

On the 5th, Kim Bomin wrote on her Instagram, "I respect those who have been vaccinated. I understand that some have no choice but to get vaccinated, that it takes courage to get vaccinated, and that it is very fortunate that there are no side effects after vaccination," adding, "I was worried because of the physical issues I have."

The 'physical issues' mentioned by Kim Bomin appear to be certain underlying conditions for which COVID-19 vaccination is not recommended.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency recommends vaccination for most people with underlying conditions, but advises against vaccination for some patients who have allergic reactions to vaccine components.

Earlier, Kim Bomin posted on her Instagram Story (posts visible for 24 hours only) that she would not get vaccinated. She said, "There are people who look at me strangely or are surprised when I say I haven't been vaccinated," and added, "People can have different thoughts. I just won't get vaccinated until the end."

She continued, "No one is responsible for my life. I also dislike the atmosphere of being forced within a group," emphasizing, "There is a subtle atmosphere as if I am someone causing trouble. I hope others don't think that way either."

However, this post sparked controversy among netizens. Some expressed support, saying, "I understand," and "It's my body and my choice to get vaccinated," but others strongly criticized Kim Bomin as "selfish." They pointed out that not getting vaccinated during a severe COVID-19 infection situation is irresponsible behavior.

One netizen criticized, "You don't wear a mask while broadcasting, do you? That is indeed causing trouble for others," and added, "If you don't want to get vaccinated and don't want to face harsh judgment, then what do you expect?"

Meanwhile, to prevent the rapid spread of infectious diseases such as the 'Omicron' variant, starting February next year, the vaccine pass (proof of vaccination or negative test) will be applied to adolescents aged 12 and older. Parents and students are strongly opposing this, calling it "practically mandatory vaccination."

Recently, a high school sophomore posted a petition on the Blue House's public petition board titled "Strongly Oppose the Vaccine Pass," which surpassed the 200,000 signatures required for an official response from the Blue House.

The petitioner stated, "I have no intention of painfully receiving this dangerous vaccine until a safe and verified vaccine is developed," and argued, "Since the state does not compensate for deaths caused by the vaccine and often does not even acknowledge causality, shouldn't there naturally be a right to refuse vaccination?"
