[Asia Economy Reporter Song Hwajeong] Daishin Financial Group is starting medical support for premature infants following its support for children with cleft lip and palate.

On the morning of the 6th, Daishin Financial Group announced that it delivered an endowment fund to support the child health support project at the director's office of Seoul Asan Hospital, attended by Lee Eoryong, Chairman of Daishin Financial Group, and Park Seung-il, Director of Seoul Asan Hospital.

This child health support project is a program designed to support the increasing number of premature infants due to delayed marriage and childbirth. The endowment fund delivered to Seoul Asan Hospital will be used for patients who fall into the blind spots of health insurance. Although many medical expenses such as hospitalization and treatment costs are required immediately after birth, it aims to help families of premature infants who are not covered by health insurance.

Under the corporate philosophy of "returning corporate profits to society," Daishin Financial Group has been conducting social contribution activities such as national health support projects and child support projects every year. In particular, since 1996, it has supported surgery costs for a total of 425 children with cleft lip and palate through university hospitals such as Konkuk University, Chonnam National University, and Pusan National University. In addition, it supports medical projects to promote public health, including endowment funds for the National Cancer Center and medical volunteer sponsorships.

Seoul Asan Hospital spares no support from medical staff for the treatment of premature infants. Last September, it successfully discharged Geonwoo, an extremely premature infant, after 153 days of intensive care. Geonwoo was the smallest extremely premature infant born in Korea, weighing 288g. Through support for the child health support project, Daishin Financial Group plans to expand the scope of its social contribution activities by supporting the spirit of sharing at Seoul Asan Hospital.

A representative of Daishin Financial Group said, "We will cooperate with Seoul Asan Hospital so that premature infants can grow up healthily," and added, "Starting with this sponsorship, we plan to continue providing support for neonatal patients."
