[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Son Seonhee] The government has designated this month as a 'Special Quarantine Inspection Period' and decided to form a 'COVID-19 Field Inspection Support Team' to conduct on-site quarantine inspections.
According to the Office for Government Policy Coordination on the 6th, the support team consists of a total of 25 members, including one director-level support officer and seven team leaders at the manager level. Divided into two support teams, Support Team 1 will monitor the progress in four major areas: ▲ securing hospital beds ▲ vaccination ▲ home treatment ▲ epidemiological investigation, while Support Team 2 will conduct joint inspections of vulnerable sectors and facilities with each ministry and local government.
Gu Yoon-cheol, head of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, stated, "This crisis requires all ministries to act as quarantine authorities with extraordinary determination and to devote all their capabilities to quarantine efforts." He added, "The COVID-19 Field Inspection Support Team will visit the field directly to carefully examine even the smallest details and do their best to promptly devise solutions."
