[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] A driver in his 20s caused a traffic accident on a side street in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, and pretended to be a witness to report it to the police, but was caught by the police after the hit-and-run was revealed.

According to SBS '8 News,' at around 2:20 a.m. on the 5th, a report was received that a man had collapsed on a side street in a residential area of Soheul-eup, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi Province.

The victim was a man in his 40s who was taken to the hospital but ultimately passed away. The first reporter was a woman in her 20s, Ms. A, who was at the accident scene.

The police stated, "Ms. A initially testified that she discovered the collapsed person while driving by and reported it."

However, after analyzing nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, it was revealed that Ms. A was not a witness but the driver who directly hit the victim with her car.
