[Photo] Oh Seung-rok, Nowon District Mayor, Attends Nowon Village Community Network Festival

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] On the 5th at 12 noon, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the Nowon Village Community Network Festival '2021 Let's Build a Forest Together' held in the auditorium on the 2nd floor of Nowon District Office.

The event was organized by the Nowon Village Community Support Center and was held throughout the morning and afternoon with the attendance of Mayor Oh Seung-rok, city council members, district council members, village activists, and residents of Nowon District.

In the morning, starting with the mayor's greeting, 43 village activists gathered for a discussion session to explore ways to revitalize the village community. In the afternoon, experiential activities and playtime were provided for general residents to promote harmony among them.

Residents enjoyed various experiential activities such as making grip tok, coffee drip bags, leather wallets, drawing pop art self-portraits, and making jegi and ttakji using recycled materials, as well as playing traditional games like gonggi-nori, tuho, and mole catching.

On one side of the venue, an exhibition of residents' works was also prepared. ‘Climate Crisis Action - Nowon Jigi,’ which participated in the village community contest project, exhibited environmental campaign photos and upcycled works, while ‘Village Scenery’ displayed artworks to share their activities and achievements so far.

The event was conducted in strict compliance with quarantine rules such as verifying completion of the second COVID-19 vaccination, temperature checks, and recording entry logs to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, said, “I congratulate everyone for successfully completing this year's activities despite the difficult circumstances surrounding village community activities and resident participation projects. I hope this network festival will be a meaningful time to share the efforts and achievements so far and to foster harmony among residents.”
