[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education will conduct budget and accounting training in a non-face-to-face format on the 7th to enhance the expertise of school accounting officers.
According to the Office of Education on the 5th, this training was planned to coincide with the next year's budget formulation period. A survey conducted by the Office of Education in July showed that 97% of respondents answered that education on overall accounting areas such as budget and expenditure for project managers is necessary.
The Office of Education actively reflected field opinions to establish this training plan, and it is composed of substantial content that helps strengthen the autonomy and accountability of individual schools and enhance the expertise of school accounting officers.
The training will focus on the '2022 School Accounting Budget Formulation Basic Guidelines,' covering ▲ changes in school accounting budget formulation guidelines ▲ changes in standard education expense grant criteria ▲ major points of analysis in the main budget ▲ pilot school operation plans for the school autonomous budget system ▲ the role of project managers in school accounting ▲ accounting-related staff and responsibilities ▲ how to master budget proposals ▲ credit card usage guidelines, etc.
In particular, considering the prevention of COVID-19 community spread and the safety of faculty and staff, this training will be conducted entirely in a non-face-to-face online format. The training content will be posted on the Gwangju Office of Education’s YouTube channel so that school faculty and staff can access it anytime.
Song Young-seon, head of the Administrative Budget Division at the Office of Education, said, "We expect that conducting budget and accounting training at the appropriate time, which is necessary in the school field, will help with budget formulation and education finance management," and added, "We plan to continue providing training to strengthen the capabilities and expertise of school accounting officers."
Meanwhile, the Gwangju Office of Education plans to expand school operating expenses by applying the revised standard education expense grant criteria from the 2022 school year and distributed the '2022 School Accounting Budget Formulation Basic Guidelines' to all schools last November.
