LG Uplus Opens 'Disney+' Experience Zones in 2,100 Stores Nationwide

Some Stores Also Set Up Goods Shops and Photo Zones

A visitor at the LG Uplus Gangnam Direct Store is exploring the Disney+ experience zone.

[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] LG Uplus announced on the 5th that it will operate Disney+ experience zones at over 2,100 stores nationwide. Customers will be able to try Disney+ firsthand at nearby stores and receive explanations about the service.

LG Uplus will decorate its directly operated stores and agencies nationwide, including Seoul, Busan, Incheon, Daegu, Daejeon, Gwangju, Busan, and Jeju, with Walt Disney Company characters and content. Inside, a global online video service (OTT) Disney+ experience space will be set up.

The experience zones are basically designed to allow customers to use Disney+ through various LG Uplus mobile devices and IPTV ‘U+tv’. Visitors can explore not only the content but also the dedicated remote control with Disney+ hotkeys and the IPTV menu screen.

Some stores will offer concept spaces along with the service experience. These include a home cinema zone that maximizes Disney+ video and sound effects similar to a theater, a goods shop selling over 60 types of Disney character products, and a photo zone featuring six core Disney brands such as Pixar and Marvel.

Recently, a Disney+ experience zone was also opened at a ski resort. LG Uplus will operate an on-site experience zone at Gonjiam Resort Ski Resort for one month until January 2 next year. Customers can try the Disney+ service at the ski house and take photos at the photo zone.

About 10,000 employees serving customers at LG Uplus stores nationwide will wear uniforms featuring Disney characters to strengthen promotion. The uniforms are made in versions such as 'Iron Man', 'Frozen Olaf', and 'Toy Story Buzz'.

Jung Hye-yoon, LG Uplus IMC Director (Executive Director), said, “We prepared experience zones in stores spread across the country so that visitors can easily encounter Disney+ anywhere, aiming to expand customers’ overall usage experience. We will enhance service accessibility by utilizing various key spaces such as ski resorts and Gangnam Station’s Everyday and Unusual Gap.”
