[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] Former Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae directly criticized Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, who demanded an apology from President Moon Jae-in over the 'Cho Kuk incident,' saying, "His shamelessness is truly astonishing."

On the 3rd, former Minister Chu said on her Facebook, "Yoon Seok-yeol's demand for a presidential apology reveals his cunning true nature."

She pointed out, "He is loudly criticizing the president who appointed him, praised him, and defended him by saying to serve his full term."

Earlier, candidate Yoon urged, regarding Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, who apologized for the Cho Kuk incident, "Is the Cho Kuk incident something that can be resolved by just one person's apology?" and called on him to "truly acknowledge responsibility for the Cho Kuk incident and persuade President Moon to apologize to the public even now."

Additionally, former Minister Chu also called for Yoon's resignation in her post that day. She demanded an apology from Yoon, saying, "The Administrative Court ruled that the obstruction of inspection and investigation by the Prosecutor General seriously infringed on the legality and fairness of prosecutorial affairs and constitutes a serious misconduct warranting dismissal or more."

She mentioned allegations of Yoon's involvement in instigating complaints and his wife's stock manipulation suspicions, stating, "Yoon Seok-yeol is a candidate who privatized prosecutorial power, colluded with the media to threaten innocent citizens, and when exposed, fabricated complaints and obstructed inspections and investigations, thus must take responsibility for this series of prosecutorial power abuses."

She added, "A couple who disrupted judicial and economic order cannot be the face of the nation," emphasizing, "This is a crime that disturbed fairness and requires a humble apology to the people."
