On the 4th, Suncheon City announced that seven new COVID-19 cases were confirmed as of the previous day, classified as cases number 815 to 821.
Among them, six confirmed cases are reported to have occurred at Church A located in Jorye-dong, raising concerns about a cluster infection spreading in the local community.
Church A is known to be a small church with fewer than 20 congregants, and three of its members recently visited religious facilities in other regions.
Suncheon City, which was the first in the nation to declare With-Corona, has seen more than five confirmed cases for the first time in 11 days since the 23rd of last month.
While the COVID-19 situation had remained stable despite large-scale performances and various events, concerns are growing in the local community about whether the cluster infection originating from the religious facility will spread further.
A city official stated, "An epidemiological investigation is underway."
