According to the hotel industry on the 3rd, a foreigner who attended the '33rd World Cooperative Congress' held at the Grand Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul from the 1st to the same day tested positive for COVID-19.

The foreigner underwent a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test the previous day and was officially confirmed as positive on the day.

President Moon also attended the opening ceremony on the 1st and gave a congratulatory speech, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Hong Nam-ki gave a presentation on behalf of the government titled "Achievements and Challenges of Korea's Social Economy."

It was also reported that hundreds of cooperative officials from over 80 countries around the world, including Yoon Ho-jung, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Ariel Guarco, president of the International Cooperative Alliance, attended along with political and business figures.

However, since the venue was large and there was no additional contact from quarantine authorities, it is believed that the confirmed case likely did not have direct contact with President Moon or others.
