[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] On the morning of the 3rd, Miryang City in Gyeongnam announced that the construction cost for the Miryang National Intangible Heritage Center and the artificial rock climbing wall project cost for the National Miryang Mountaineering School were included in next year's government budget passed by the National Assembly.
The National Intangible Heritage Center, headquartered in Jeonju City, Jeonbuk, is an agency under the Cultural Heritage Administration that systematically inherits and preserves intangible cultural heritage.
The budget for next year includes 1.7 billion KRW for the design service of the branch of the National Intangible Heritage Center. The Cultural Heritage Administration plans to spend 40 billion KRW over the next five years to build the branch.
Miryang City will provide the city-owned land where the old Changwon District Court Miryang Branch in Sammundong was located as the site.
The National Miryang Mountaineering School project, promoted by the Southern Regional Forest Service aiming for completion in 2023 in Sannae-myeon, Miryang City, has added an artificial rock climbing wall.
Of the 3 billion KRW construction cost for the artificial rock climbing wall, 1.5 billion KRW is reflected in next year's budget.
Miryang City emphasized that although the design service cost for the branch of the National Intangible Heritage Center and the construction cost for the National Miryang Mountaineering School were initially excluded from the government budget proposal, they were newly included during the National Assembly's review process.
In addition, Miryang City announced that it secured a record-high amount of 311.6 billion KRW in national and provincial subsidies based on the original budget for next year, gaining momentum to promote pending projects.
