COVID-19: 1,803 Cases Confirmed in Seoul by 9 PM... 67 Fewer Than Previous Day

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the number of new COVID-19 cases in Seoul was tentatively counted at 1,803 during the 21 hours from midnight to 9 PM on the same day.


Compared to the same time frame, this is 67 fewer than the previous day (the 2nd), which was a record high of 1,870, and 216 more than a week ago (November 26), when there were 1,587 cases. The total number of cases for the entire day was 2,099 on the 2nd and 1,888 on November 26.


The daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul first reached the 1,000 mark on September 24 with 1,221 cases, then remained relatively stable for a while before soaring to 1,004 on November 2. After that, the numbers were 1,436 on the 16th, 1,734 on the 23rd, 1,760 on the 24th, 1,888 on the 26th, and 2,222 on the 30th, setting a record high five times last month alone. Following this, the number stayed in the 2,000s for three consecutive days until the previous day, continuing the daily record-breaking streak that began on the 13th of last month for 20 days straight.


As of 9 PM on the 3rd, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Seoul was tentatively counted at 162,676. The final tally for the entire day will be compiled as of midnight on the 4th and announced in the morning.
