President Moon: "More Warmth Needed for Those in Need"

Blue House Hosts Donation and Sharing Organizations Event... "Hope for Active Participation in Donation and Sharing with Spirit of Coexistence and Inclusion"

[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] On the 3rd, President Moon Jae-in said at the Blue House 'Donation-Sharing Organization Invitation Event,' "When disasters like COVID-19 occur, the vulnerable suffer greater damage, and inequality and polarization worsen. More warmth is needed," according to Blue House spokesperson Park Kyung-mi.


Spokesperson Park stated, "President Moon said that the people have overcome crises by coming together during difficult times such as the foreign exchange crisis. It is the same with COVID-19. While the government is actively working on inclusive recovery through fiscal measures, voluntary donations and sharing from the private sector are necessary," she said.

President Moon told those attending that day, "Those present today are people who have a positive influence," and urged, "Just as throwing a stone into a pond causes ripples, please unite your hearts so that the hopeful message given by good deeds spreads quickly."


Spokesperson Park conveyed, "President Moon expressed hope that the people would actively participate in donations and sharing with the spirit of coexistence and inclusion."


Meanwhile, 14 donation and sharing organizations attended the event. Among those present were Jang Man-hee, Commander of the Salvation Army Korea Territory; Kim Jung-gon, Secretary General of Good Neighbors; Shin Min-seok, Vice Chairman of the Korean Tuberculosis Association; and Shin Hee-young, President of the Korean Red Cross.


Also attending was Mrs. Park Chun-ja, who donated all her savings earned from selling gimbap. President Moon and First Lady Kim Jung-sook accompanied Mrs. Park to the meeting venue.
