3 Billion KRW Donation to Busan City Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign on the 3rd
7 Consecutive Years of Campaign Contributions, ESG Management Practice Sharing 'Gold Member'

On average per year, he has extended nearly 4 billion won annually over the past decade to help those in need. He is Kwon Hyuk-woon, chairman of IS Dongseo.
Leading IS Dongseo, a comprehensive company in the construction, environment, and manufacturing industries, with a commitment to practicing ESG management, Chairman Kwon visited the mayor’s office on the 7th floor of Busan City Hall at 4 p.m. on the 3rd.
Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon greeted him with a bowed head and a smile. Choi Geum-sik, chairman of Busan Community Chest of Korea, was also present.
Chairman Kwon came to donate 300 million won to the ‘Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign.’
The Busan Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign is a neighbor-helping campaign conducted by the Community Chest of Korea (Love Fruit).
This year, due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the campaign adopted the slogan “Sharing, a social vaccine for all.”
The donation IS Dongseo gave to Busan will be used to support vulnerable groups suffering from the prolonged COVID-19 crisis.
Chairman Kwon, who visited City Hall, is also the chairman of the Moonam Scholarship and Cultural Foundation. The foundation’s main work is to replace Chairman Kwon’s desire to contribute to society with scholarship and cultural projects.
Chairman Kwon said, “It is a time when we need to embrace marginalized groups who are having an even harder year due to the long-lasting COVID-19.” He also stated, “We will continue the corporate social responsibility to live together with those in need.”
Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon said, “IS Dongseo is a company that usually leads in investing in Busan, creating jobs, and helping the local community,” adding, “I express my gratitude to Chairman Kwon Hyuk-woon for not forgetting to donate such a large amount every year.”
Kwon Hyuk-woon is an entrepreneur who started his business in Busan. Since 2015, he has been connected with the Busan Community Chest of Korea and has donated to marginalized neighbors in the Busan area every year.
His company focuses on eco-friendly construction and environmental business through recycling. It has been an early adopter of ESG management practices including social contribution, and Chairman Kwon established a scholarship foundation with a donation of 14 billion won.
The Moonam Scholarship and Cultural Foundation opens doors to the future through projects such as improving educational environments to help students study in better conditions and nurturing industrial talents for talent discovery.
The foundation has awarded scholarships to over 1,300 students through its “Hope to the Future Scholarship” program. It is preparing to deliver 150 million won in scholarships by the end of this year.
In February, the foundation signed a business agreement with the Busan Police Agency to support children who suffered abuse in Busan through the “Busan City Abused Children Support Project,” and in September, it provided donations for the “Crime Victim Children Support Project.” Over the past 10 years, it has donated more than 38.3 billion won earned through business activities.
IS Dongseo has been recognized for its social contribution activities and environmental and energy business through eco-friendly construction and recycling, receiving the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Award, the ESG Management Grand Prize, last November.
Additionally, it is a Gold Member of the “Busan Sharing Prestigious Company No. 3” under the Community Chest of Korea’s Love Fruit, a representative high-donation corporate donor group in Korea that leads the culture of sharing and presents a desirable role model for corporate social responsibility.
