[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund announced on the 3rd that the "Credit Guarantee and Accounts Receivable Insurance Statistics" has been approved as "National Statistics" by Statistics Korea.
The "Credit Guarantee and Accounts Receivable Insurance Statistics" are compiled from data collected through the credit guarantee and accounts receivable insurance projects conducted by the Fund. It consists of credit guarantee statistics (guarantee balance, number of companies, industry information, corporate information), credit guarantee business birth and death statistics (survival rate and extinction rate of guarantee-supported companies), and accounts receivable insurance statistics (number of companies related to accounts receivable insurance, underwriting balance, industry, business duration), among others.
The statistics have been compiled annually from the time the Fund started the related operations up to the most recent year. Starting next year, they will be published every May.
The Fund applied for national statistics approval last October to provide the data it produces and collects in a timely manner and to enhance its value as a public resource.
An official from the Fund stated, "In response to the growing demand for public data disclosure, we plan to discover and develop more meaningful and useful statistics for public release," and emphasized, "We will lead the data economy through multifaceted cooperation with Statistics Korea using the nationally approved statistics as a medium."
