Gyeongnam Gimhae Western Senior Welfare Center Selected as a 'Dementia Overcoming Leading Organization'

The Seobu Senior Welfare Center in Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam, was selected as a leading organization for dementia overcoming on the 30th.

The Gimhae City Welfare Foundation and the Gimhae City Dementia Safety Center signed an agreement in June and launched the "Dementia Overcoming Leading Organization Relay Challenge" campaign to create a dementia-friendly environment and establish a dementia linkage system.

The campaign's designation project for dementia overcoming leading organizations was implemented to provide dementia education to members of organizations, improve negative perceptions of the disease, and cultivate dementia overcoming partners who consider patients and their families.

The challenge involved the Gimhae City Welfare Foundation and five affiliated welfare institutions, with the Gimhae City Welfare Foundation as the first participant and the Seobu Senior Welfare Center designated as the final organization.

Institutions designated as dementia overcoming leading organizations, including the Dementia Safety Center, plan to expand dementia-related projects such as dementia prevention education for welfare center users, focused dementia management for vulnerable groups, early dementia management for middle-aged adults, and resource linkage, while focusing on securing a dementia safety net.
