Busan Gijang Police Station announced on the 3rd that they have detained A (male, in his 30s) on charges including violation of the Information and Communications Network Act.
According to the police, A is suspected of copying the ID cards he received from four customers at a mobile phone agency he operates in Gijang-gun, Busan, under the pretext of providing subsidies, and from August to October, illegally activating mobile phones and obtaining loans totaling 220 million won through non-face-to-face loan applications.
So far, four cases of damage have been reported, but the police are investigating further, believing there may be additional offenses.
