TIPA Successfully Concludes Industry-Academia-Research Matching Day... "A Starting Point for Open Innovation"


[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] The Small and Medium Business Technology Information Promotion Agency (TIPA) announced on the 3rd that the 'Industry-Academia-Research Matching Day' event, held for three days starting from the 29th of last month, concluded successfully.


This event was organized to strengthen the research and development (R&D) capabilities of small and medium enterprises and to promote joint research among industry, academia, and research institutes. TIPA conducted technology seminars and matching consultations based on 263 demand technologies from small and medium enterprises identified in advance, as well as from universities, research institutes, and other innovation organizations.


During the event, 35 seminars by field introduced technologies held by innovation organizations and technologies desired for joint R&D. Through technology matching and consultations, approximately 200 technologies were matched between small and medium enterprises, universities, and research institutes.


At the opening ceremony, TIPA President Jaehong Lee emphasized the importance of industry-academia-research cooperation to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium venture businesses in his welcoming remarks. President Lee stated, "Next year, we plan to expand and reorganize the participants to include more small and medium enterprises, universities, and research institutes, and to hold regional events by area," adding, "We will strive to make the Industry-Academia-Research Matching Day the starting point for open innovation through joint research and cooperation among industry, academia, and research."
