Gwangju Urban Railway Corporation to Refund Transportation Costs to This Year's Highest Number of Users

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation (President Yoon Jinbo) expresses gratitude to citizens who have continuously used public transportation while strictly adhering to quarantine guidelines amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.


The corporation announced on the 2nd that it is holding the ‘2021 Customer Love Payback’ event, which awards gifts to customers who used the Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit the most, based on transportation card usage data collected from January to the 23rd of this month.


However, free transportation cards and Happy-i transportation cards are excluded from the tally.


Citizens wishing to participate in the event can download the application form from the corporation’s website notice board or the corporation’s blog from the 3rd to the 23rd, fill in their transportation card information, and submit it via email.


The corporation will award one general customer and one youth/child customer who used the subway the most with bicycles each, and will provide transportation cards loaded with transportation fees ranging from 50,000 to 30,000 KRW to the next 18 runners-up.


President Yoon Jinbo said, “I would like to thank the customers who used the metropolitan rapid transit throughout the year to promote public transportation and realize a carbon-neutral Gwangju,” adding, “We will do our best to operate a safe and convenient metropolitan rapid transit in the new year as well.”
