Cash Bag Containing 45 Million Won Found on Seungdalsan Mountain, Muan, Jeonnam

Wildfire Prevention and Suppression Team Members Report to Muan Police

Muan County Wildfire Prevention and Suppression Team discovered a money bag containing 45 million won in cash on Seungdalsan Mountain in Muan and reported it to the police. ⓒ Asia Economy

[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] At Seungdalsan in Muan, Jeollanam-do, the Muan County Wildfire Prevention and Suppression Team (Captain Oh An-gyun) discovered a money bag containing 45 million won in cash and reported it to the police.

According to Muan County on the 2nd, at around 2:50 PM on the same day, the wildfire suppression team conducting environmental cleanup activities on the ‘Seungdalsan?Yeongsangang Meeting Trail’ road found a money bag containing 45 million won in cash.

At the time of discovery, the money bag was covered with fallen leaves not far from the road, and inside were nine bundles of 50,000 won bills, each containing 100 notes.

The team members who were picking up trash found it and immediately reported it to the police, and the Seungdal Police Substation took custody of it. The Seungdal Police Substation plans to verify the money bag and hand it over to the main station to find the owner.

However, it is planned to further investigate whether the money bag was lost or if there is another reason behind it.

Since a withdrawal slip was also inside the money bag, it is expected that identifying the source of the money will not be difficult.

A member of the Muan County Wildfire Prevention and Suppression Team said, “We were conducting cleanup activities on the forest road of Seungdalsan that day,” and added, “Since it is a large sum, I hope the owner can be found if it is lost money.”
