[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] On the 2nd, Changwon City in Gyeongnam held the '1st Environmental Technicians Seminar' at Hotel International Changwon.
This event, held for the first time this year, was hosted by the Gyeongnam Green Environment Support Center and the Gyeongnam Environmental Technicians Association, and sponsored by Changwon City. It was organized as a communication venue to commend the efforts of environmental technicians working for corporate environmental management and development and to exchange information.
Before the seminar, Mayor Heo Seong-mu awarded commendations to 17 exemplary environmental technicians in fields such as air quality, water quality, and waste.
Following this, Professor Park Jong-gwan of the Department of Environmental Engineering at Changwon National University gave a special lecture on the theme of 'Strategies for Achieving Corporate Carbon Neutrality,' and Deputy General Manager Kang Cheol-gyu of Haesung DS presented 'ESG Management Cases of Changwon City Companies.'
Next, to strengthen the capabilities of corporate environmental technicians, Researcher Lee Gyu-yeol of the Chemical Safety Management Division at the Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office conducted training on 'Handling and Management Measures of Hazardous Chemicals at Workplaces,' and Ok Jong-min from the Environmental Policy Division of the City Hall provided field-oriented education on 'Guidance and Inspection Directions for Emission Facilities Following the Launch of Changwon Special City.'
About 100 people, including corporate environmental technicians and environmental workers, attended the seminar that day.
Mayor Heo said, "Through this seminar, we shared the practical difficulties faced by companies due to the economic downturn," and added, "We will spare no administrative and financial support, such as technical assistance and support for the installation of prevention facilities, to provide practical help in on-site environmental management."
