[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 2nd that it held a meeting with the Sancheong-gun Health and Medical Center to enhance the efficiency of the Medical Aid Project and established a plan for mutual cooperation.

This meeting was held to share the contents of the Medical Aid Project for low-income groups promoted by Sancheong-gun and the health management projects such as health support and dementia mental care conducted by the Health and Medical Center.

It was also arranged to evaluate cases referred to the medical center through medical aid case management this year and to facilitate smooth mutual cooperation when each institution promotes its projects in the future.

According to the county, among the low-income medical support recipients this year, there were a total of about 40 cases referred to the Health and Medical Center's health support services.

Among them, for cases showing early symptoms of mental illness that are difficult to overcome, a visiting mental health project was linked, resulting in noticeably improved symptoms.

A county official said, "Low-income people often lose their health due to the harsh economic realities they face and lack information about medical benefits. However, once selected as medical aid recipients, they can receive customized medical aid benefits through case management by the county," adding, "We will continue to build a cooperative system with medical aid institutions inside and outside the county to ensure welfare resources are connected where needed."

Meanwhile, the Medical Aid system is a system in which the state guarantees medical issues for low-income residents who have no ability to maintain their livelihood or have difficulty living. It supports all or part of the out-of-pocket expenses incurred from using medical institutions to reduce the burden of health insurance premiums.
