[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Ildong Pharmaceutical announced on the 2nd that it received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Commendation at the ‘2021 Sustainable Management Government Awards’ hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups on the 1st.

The ‘Sustainable Management Government Awards’ is a system that selects and awards excellent cases to emphasize the importance of corporate sustainable management and social responsibility, and to encourage companies to strengthen competitiveness, improve awareness, and expand participation. Especially this year, the evaluation and selection of excellent cases were conducted focusing on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.

Ildong Pharmaceutical was recognized for its ESG management activities and achievements, as well as efforts to practice social responsibility, and was selected as an excellent case in the Social (S) category along with the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Commendation.

Based on the spirit of coexistence and community consciousness, Ildong Pharmaceutical is making efforts to practice social responsibility by carrying out various donations, sponsorships, and volunteer activities, and participating in solving problems and seeking development in local communities. Representative examples include donation and sponsorship activities using the ‘Ildong Salary Deduction Social Contribution Program,’ which combines employees’ voluntary participation and the company’s ‘matching grant,’ and scholarship support projects through the scholarship foundation ‘Songpa Foundation.’

?A representative of Ildong Pharmaceutical said, "With the recognition that ESG management is an issue directly related to corporate survival beyond growth and development, we plan to respond by establishing committees and dedicated organizations related to ESG, and through the establishment, execution, and advancement of related roadmaps."
