[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jonghwa] ScentOn Co., Ltd., a fragrance marketing specialist company, announced on the 2nd that it partnered with Gyeonggi Province to create signature (CI) scents inspired by nine ecological tourism hubs in Gyeonggi Province and conducted joint fragrance marketing targeting visitors to these ecological tourism hubs.
This fragrance marketing was carried out to widely promote the ecological tourism hubs within Gyeonggi Province and to provide visitors with pleasant memories, in line with the government's phased plan for returning to daily life despite the COVID-19 situation.
This fragrance marketing project was developed by ScentOn, which researches and develops representative Korean scents as well as fragrances from various regions nationwide, using scents that reflect the ecological resources and characteristics of the nine ecological tourism hubs in Gyeonggi Province.
The scents developed through the ecological tourism hub project include Hwaseong Uumdo - Uumdo scent dyed red by the evening sunset, Pyeongtaek Baramsae Village - Baramsae scent roaming over the green fields, Goyang Janghang Wetland - Janghang Wetland scent filled with summer freshness, Paju Jilomok Village - Ogumri scent of the green wetland where the hooded cranes return, and Pocheon Hantan River Ecocultural Experience Center - Hantan River scent flowing through deep gorges.
Additionally, the scents include Gapyeong Morning Calm Green Village - Fir forest scent evoking the quiet breath of morning, Icheon Sansuyu Village - Sansuyu Village scent whispering the trees, Yeoncheon Samgotri Village - Samgotri scent showing traces of old stone piles, and Gapyeong Yeoninsan Village - Yeoninsan scent fully capturing the refreshing forest.
Diffusers containing the signature scents of the nine ecological tourism hubs were also developed and given to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis during the temporary exhibition held throughout November. Along with this, a 'One-day Class' was operated to provide basic fragrance education and allow visitors to experience the nine signature scents, receiving favorable reviews from many visitors.
Yoo Jung-yeon, CEO of ScentOn, stated, "The development of the Gyeonggi Ecological Tourism Hub Signature (CI) scents will create a positive effect by allowing visitors to cherish long-lasting good memories through scents that capture the characteristics of each tourist site," adding, "We will continue to work with Gyeonggi Province to widely promote its excellent tourist destinations through fragrance."
