‘ESG Management Strategies in the Real Estate Industry’ Joint Seminar by the Korean Real Estate Management Association and the Korean Real Estate Society on the 4th

[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] The Korea Real Estate Management Association announced on the 2nd that, in collaboration with the Korean Real Estate Society, it will hold the 2021 second half academic seminar titled "ESG Management Strategies in the Real Estate Industry" on the 4th at the Korea Association of Licensed Real Estate Agents Hall.

Recently, with the advent of a low-carbon, coexistence, and sharing era worldwide, the management environment across international, government, corporate, industrial, and real estate sectors is rapidly changing. Especially amid growing uncertainties such as carbon neutrality, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the US-China hegemony competition, interest in ESG management is emerging as a hot topic both domestically and internationally. ESG management refers to the management activities of economic entities conducted transparently through environmental protection, social contribution, and governance transparency.

Additionally, CRE (corporate real estate) management is gaining attention alongside ESG management. Companies grow through both internal and external growth as well as ESG and CRE management from the perspectives of growth and contribution. This is because corporate real estate constitutes a significant part of a company's fundamental assets, and the appreciation of CRE real estate value is closely related to the increase in the company's value.

This conference will be moderated by Professor Jin-Hyung Seo of Gyeongin Women's University. The first topic will be a presentation on "Analysis of the Impact of ESG Management Characteristics on the Value of Knowledge Industry Centers" by Professor Moon-Soo Park of Sangmyung University, and the second topic will be "Investment Attraction Management Strategies of PropTech Startups" by Adjunct Professor Kwang-Ho Han of Konkuk University.

Following this, discussions will be held with Professor Byung-Ki Kang of World Cyber University, Professor Sang-Soo Geum of Semyung University, Professor Jun-Hwan Kim of Seoul Digital University, Professor Woo-Kyung of Gimpo University, Professor Sang-Beom Kim of Sejong Cyber University, Professor Hyun-Wook Ryu of Shinhan University, Professor Pil Park of Dong Seoul University, and Dr. Kwang-Gyun Lee of Kyung Hee University. This seminar is free and open to anyone interested in ESG management and the real estate industry.

Kim Hak-Hwan, President of the Real Estate Management Association, emphasized, "The environment of the real estate industry is rapidly changing recently. Preparing strategies to respond to these changes is a task of the times," adding, "Through seeking directions for the real estate industry suitable for the ESG management era, we must prepare plans for the advancement and revitalization of the real estate industry and contribute to national economic development."
