Mapo-gu Ranks First Nationwide in Basic Local Government Brand Reputation

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) has been selected as the No. 1 basic local government brand reputation in Korea by the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute.

This is based on the 'Korea Basic Local Government Brand Reputation Index' announced by the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute in November 2021. The analysis covered 338,233,312 pieces of big data from 226 basic local government brands collected from October 26 to November 26.

The brand reputation index is an indicator created through big data analysis that identifies how consumers' online habits greatly influence brand consumption. It is measured by positive and negative evaluations of the brand, media interest, consumer participation and communication volume, and social media conversations.

The Korea Basic Local Government Brand Reputation Index is analyzed through participation index, media index, communication index, and community index.

Mapo-gu recorded a participation index of 525,319, media index of 1,093,813, communication index of 1,642,429, and community index of 2,590,431, resulting in a brand reputation index of 5,851,992, the highest among 226 basic local governments nationwide.

This represents a 16.17% increase from the brand reputation index of 5,037,564 in October (ranked 4th among basic local governments nationwide).

Yoo Dong-gyun, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, "This result is the fruit of the joint efforts of all public officials and residents of Mapo-gu. We will continue to prioritize communication with residents and enhance the brand value of the region."
