[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Kosin University Gospel Hospital has embarked on a ‘Smart Medical Care’ project.
Kosin University Gospel Hospital and ‘Hi’ signed a business agreement on the 1st to cooperate in building smart healthcare. The two organizations agreed to collaborate in creating an artificial intelligence ecosystem for the smart health cluster.
The agreement includes ▲ mutual information exchange to strengthen the technological competitiveness of the smart healthcare industry ▲ cooperation in treating dementia, ADHD, and depression through chatbots ▲ technology exchange among specialized fields and pioneering new technologies in medical artificial intelligence ▲ joint research to enhance the competitiveness of advanced smart healthcare industry technologies.
Hi is a venture company developing digital therapeutics that prevent and manage mental illnesses such as dementia, depression, and anxiety disorders.
Hi’s digital therapeutics are software treatments that treat mental illnesses without physical stimulation or drugs.
Since the therapeutics are not administered into the body, they carry less risk than conventional pharmaceuticals and show better treatment outcomes than traditional cognitive therapies.
In May, Hi launched the open beta of the ‘Brain Health Keeper Saemi’ service. Saemi is a cognitive training chatbot service aimed at dementia prevention.
The service operates through KakaoTalk, where users engage in cognitive enhancement training games via conversation.
Hi is also developing ‘Ppomi,’ which can help treat ADHD, and ‘Yumi,’ aimed at resolving depression issues commonly experienced by people in their 20s and 30s.
Hospital Director Oh Kyung-seung said, “The digital therapeutics business model has presented a new direction for the medical community.”
In August, Kosin University Hospital signed a joint research agreement with Edware, a voice AI specialist company, for dementia prevention services.
In March, it began developing a fall prevention algorithm based on a gait analysis system in collaboration with Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology.
