GS Caltex Shares Warmth with 'Year-End Relay Volunteer Service'

Delivery of Kimchi, Heating Oil, and White Rice to Elders and Marginalized Neighbors Near Yeosu Factory

[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Sim Kyung-taek] GS Caltex will conduct a 'Year-end Relay Volunteer Activity' in December for the elderly and underprivileged neighbors near its Yeosu plant in Jeollanam-do.

The GS Caltex Yeosu Plant Volunteer Group will prepare a total of 1,000 heads of kimchi, 500 heads each on the 1st and 7th, together with residents of Myodo-dong and Samil-dong, and deliver them to village senior centers and underprivileged neighbors.

Considering the environment, kimchi containers were prepared as kimchi storage containers that can be used for a long time in each household instead of disposable styrofoam. In addition, 30 drums of heating oil and 80 bags of 20kg rice will be provided to underprivileged neighbors in the district identified by each community center.

Furthermore, in December, 2 to 3 households in nearby villages requiring home repairs will be selected to improve their living environment, and boiler inspections will be conducted for about 250 households.

A GS Caltex Yeosu Plant official said, "Since 2005, the headquarters and the plant have been conducting year-end relay volunteer activities together, and from this year, we have decided to pay more attention to improving the living environment and welfare of nearby village residents."
