Yeosu Fire Station Deploys Ambulance in Nam-myeon

Residents of Nam-myeon Area Enable Specialized Emergency Medical Services for Geumo-do Tourists

[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Sim Kyung-taek] With the deployment of an ambulance at the Nam-myeon 119 Regional Unit in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do, it is expected that the golden time and safety of residents in the Nam-myeon area of Yeosu will be significantly enhanced.

Yeosu Fire Station announced on the 30th that it held a launching ceremony for the Nam-myeon 119 Ambulance Unit at the Nam-myeon 119 Regional Unit, attended by about 80 people including heads of various organizations and fire families.

Until now, the Nam-myeon Regional Unit had only one pump truck deployed for fire suppression. In case of emergency patients, transportation was carried out with the cooperation of the pump truck, nearby health centers, and the Coast Guard, making it difficult to secure the golden time.

In particular, Geumo-do in Nam-myeon, Yeosu, is a place with beautiful natural scenery and is crowded with tourists all year round. Therefore, not only the residents of Nam-myeon but also tourists visiting Geumo-do can now enjoy specialized ambulance services.

Additionally, the Nam-myeon Regional Unit has been reorganized from a two-person unit to a three-person unit, establishing a rapid dispatch system.

Chief Kim Chang-su said, "This is the first time an ambulance has been deployed in the island areas within Yeosu City," and added, "We will provide the best ambulance service through systematic and professional 119 ambulance unit operations."
