[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Lotte Entertainment is launching the short-form content '4 Minutes 44 Seconds'.
On the 1st, Lotte Entertainment announced that '4 Minutes 44 Seconds', which has completed casting including actors Yu Ji-ae, Ham Yeon-ji, Onew, Sung-yeol, Kim So-jung, Lim Na-young, Lee Soo-min, Kwon Hyun-bin, Kim Ji-hoon, Park Tae-in, Jang Young-nam, Jo Ji-seung, and Ryu Sung-hyun, began its first filming on the same day.
'4 Minutes 44 Seconds' is a horror genre short-form content set in the confined space of an apartment, based on everyday themes closely related to daily life such as ASMR, delivery services, and noise between floors. It will be produced as a total of 8 episodes.
The production is handled by 'Film Company Gung', and the direction is by rookie director Park Jong-gyun, who is taking on the short-form genre for the first time with this work.
Lotte Entertainment stated, "This work holds special significance as it was independently planned and developed from content planning to format and storyline," adding, "Based on a flexible corporate culture that values communication, we were able to sensitively respond to market trends and realize the witty ideas of the MZ generation in video form without missing them."
Lovelyz's Yu Ji-ae, who is challenging acting for the first time, participates, and Ham Yeon-ji, who has demonstrated outstanding acting skills across musical stages and television, plays the role of a mother with a young daughter, delivering realistic horror acting. SHINee's Onew is expected to raise the tension of the drama with his realistic acting.
Sung-yeol of Infinite, who has garnered attention with his distinctive acting in various genres of films and musical stages, also joins. Additionally, Kim So-jung of the girl group GFriend adds to the completeness of the drama. Other cast members include Lim Na-young and Lee Soo-min of I.O.I, Kwon Hyun-bin, Jang Young-nam, Ryu Sung-hyun, and Jo Ji-seung.
Meanwhile, Lotte Entertainment established a New Media Content Team to plan and produce content based on digital distribution starting in December. Beginning with the series 'Concrete Market' (tentative title), which started filming on November 14, and '4 Minutes 44 Seconds', the company is determined to accelerate new media content production going forward.
