[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Lee Han-hyuk] Naju City in Jeollanam-do is receiving great response as the soybean sorting operation at the agricultural machinery rental center is easing the workload of farmers.
According to the Naju Agricultural Technology Center on the 1st, since last month, three large automatic soybean sorters have been installed at the main branch of the Dongsu-dong center, providing crop work agency services that classify meju soybeans, seoritae (black soybeans), and red beans at an affordable cost.
Harvested soybeans contain immature grains, pest-damaged grains, and foreign substances, so they must go through a sorting process.
Using the automatic sorter, up to 9 tons of soybeans and red beans can be quickly and precisely sorted per day, making it highly preferred by farmers.
The operation period is until the 20th of this month, and the usage fee is affordably set at 2,000 KRW per 40 kg.
Sorting machine use requires prior reservation and can be applied for by calling the rental center’s main branch.
A city official stated, “When using the automatic soybean sorter, it is essential to complete threshing and winnowing beforehand to ensure smooth sorting,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to operate the agricultural machinery rental center to facilitate farmers’ agricultural work.”
Meanwhile, the city rents and operates 1,409 units of 122 types of agricultural machinery, including cultivators, ride-on mowers, and soybean threshers, across seven rental centers, achieving an average of over 9,200 rental cases annually.
