COVID-19 Vaccination Completion Rate Surpasses 80%... 279 Days Since Vaccination Began (Update)

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency's Vaccination Response Promotion Team announced that, as of 11 a.m. on the same day, the provisional tally showed the second dose vaccination rate for COVID-19 surpassed 80%. This marks the 279th day since the start of COVID-19 vaccinations on February 26, and the 257th day since the beginning of second dose vaccinations on March 20.

The cumulative number of people who received the second dose is 41,084,744, corresponding to a vaccination rate of 80.0% relative to the population. The vaccination rate among those aged 18 and over was recorded at 91.5%.

The Promotion Team added, "To enhance the effectiveness of vaccination and safely return to daily life, it is essential to receive the third (booster) dose," and urged, "Those who have not yet been vaccinated are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated for their own safety and that of those around them."
