KIS Bond Evaluation, New Start as KIS Asset Evaluation

[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] KIS Bond Evaluation announced on the 1st that it will change its name to ‘KIS Asset Evaluation’ to become a top-tier comprehensive asset evaluation platform company in line with the rapidly changing market and regulatory environment.

KIS Asset Evaluation has solidified its position as a comprehensive asset evaluation firm by expanding its coverage of evaluated assets to the largest in the industry, starting from bond evaluation over the past 21 years to derivatives, alternative investment assets, and more.

Currently, it provides evaluation information on all financial products traded domestically to the entire financial sector, including asset management companies, banks, securities firms, insurance companies, and pension funds. This information is used for accounting treatment of financial products, sensitivity analysis, calculation of financial soundness indicators, and asset management performance evaluation.

In 2001, it was the first in the industry to announce a comprehensive bond index, and in 2009, it introduced the KTB index, a real-time bond index co-developed with the Korea Exchange, leading the bond index market. Recently, it has contributed to the activation of the domestic ESG investment market by partnering with the four major domestic ESG rating agencies and supplying various ESG bond indices to the market. It has also been recognized for its outstanding expertise and capabilities in financial engineering by providing asset evaluation solutions, which are core to building asset management and risk management infrastructure, to major banks, securities firms, and public enterprises.

KIS Asset Evaluation, a subsidiary of the global credit rating agency Moody’s Group, has an advanced compliance system and meets customer internal accounting control system requirements by obtaining external professional institution certification (SOC certification) for its internal control system.

Yoon Ki, CEO of KIS Asset Evaluation, said, “The asset evaluation market is facing a new turning point ahead of significant changes in various financial systems such as Basel regulatory requirements, IFRS, K-ICS, and the discontinuation of LIBOR announcements.” He added, “KIS Asset Evaluation will continue to prioritize the trust and satisfaction of customers and market participants as its highest value and will faithfully fulfill its role and responsibility as a comprehensive asset evaluation platform company.”
