[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] CJ CheilJedang has partnered with a financial platform to strengthen communication with the MZ generation, who are actively engaged in financial investment.
On the 1st, CJ CheilJedang announced that it will hold the ‘BIG BIG Event’ together with Shinhan Plus. The ‘BIG BIG Event’ is a promotion where customers who purchase ‘Hetbahn Cupban BIG’ can receive stocks from the ‘BIG (Bio, Internet, Game)’ sectors. This reflects the fact that the MZ generation, the main consumers of ‘Hetbahn Cupban,’ have recently shown high interest in stock investment.
By opening a Shinhan Financial Investment account through the entry ticket included in the ‘Hetbahn Cupban BIG’ product, customers can randomly receive one share of stock from one of nine companies, including CJ CheilJedang, LG Chem, SK Bioscience, Naver, and Samsung Electronics.
The event will run from the 2nd of this month for about three months with a limited quantity of 1 million units. Alongside this, there is also an event where participants can earn Shinhan points. By accessing the Shinhan Plus event page through the QR code on the entry ticket and entering the entry code, participants can receive up to 30,000 points.
This year, CJ CheilJedang has been increasing brand awareness of ‘Hetbahn Cupban’ by presenting various contents and events for the MZ generation. This was also reflected in the brand awareness survey of ‘Hetbahn Cupban’ conducted by CJ CheilJedang last August. According to a survey of 1,000 consumers, brand awareness of ‘Hetbahn Cupban’ in the second quarter increased by more than 10% compared to the same period last year. In particular, the YouTube content ‘Detective Cupbans,’ featuring actress Na Moon-hee as a model and released last April, gained the most popularity.
Meanwhile, ‘Hetbahn Cupban BIG’ is a product that actively reflects the needs of the MZ generation by increasing the amount of rice, toppings, and sauce by 30% compared to the existing ‘Hetbahn Cupban.’ In October, three additional varieties?‘Kimchi Samgyeop Deopbap,’ ‘Soy Sauce Samgyeop Deopbap,’ and ‘Cheese Dakgalbi Deopbap’?were introduced, expanding the lineup to a total of seven varieties.
